Open Water Diver

Your first full certification. Over three days you'll move from the training pool to the open Mediterranean, learning to plan, descend, and surface with calm and confidence — certified to dive independently with a buddy to 18m, anywhere in the world.

What you'll learn

• Assemble, check and look after a full set of scuba equipment
• Clear your mask, recover your regulator and share air with a buddy
• Control your buoyancy and hold a stop without touching the reef
• Plan a dive with tables and with a dive computer
• Descend, communicate and ascend safely as a pair
• Handle the ordinary problems — a flooded mask, a cramp, a low cylinder

Before you enrol

• Age 10 and over (divers aged 10–11 certify to 12m)
• Able to swim, and comfortable in open water
• The diving health questionnaire — some answers need a doctor's sign-off
