Your first professional rating. Develop the knowledge, stamina and leadership to lead dives, mentor students and join the SDA team — the gateway to a career in the water and a founding role in the forming Syrian Divers Union.

What you'll learn

• Dive theory properly — physics, physiology, equipment, decompression
• Demonstration-quality skills, slowed down until they can be copied
• The watermanship and stamina assessments
• Mapping a site, and briefing a dive from that map
• Leading certified divers, and reading a group in the water
• Assisting an instructor with students in training
• Running the search-and-recovery and deep scenarios
• The business of a dive centre, and your responsibilities as a professional

Before you enrol

• Rescue Diver, or an equivalent certification
• 40 logged dives to start, and 60 to certify
• Age 18 and over
• First aid and CPR training current within the last 24 months
• A diving medical signed by a doctor
