The Syrian coast's first marine academy rises in Latakia — opening Summer 2027

The Syrian Diving Academy is taking shape on the Latakia seafront. Backed by Ocean Crest Collective — "Investing beyond horizons." — it will be the country's first integrated marine-sports academy: a place to learn to dive, to fly a paraglider over the same coastline, and to help protect the sea that makes both possible.

A building shaped like a diving mask

Set in the Sports City district on the Latakia coast, the academy is designed as two lenses bridged at the centre — the silhouette of a diving mask, drawn in the fluid, parametric forms of moving water. It is the first thing you will see from the shore, and the last you will pass on your way in.

What you will find here

  • Twelve courses and levels, from a first Discover Scuba breath to Divemaster
  • Training to a maximum depth of 40 metres, taught by certified instructors
  • A PADI-aligned curriculum, recognised worldwide
  • Tandem paragliding and a coastal flight course on the same site
  • A dive log, certificates, and a numbered Diver ID you can verify online

More than a school

We exist to revive and invest in the Syrian coast. Every diver we train is part of something larger — the foundation of the forming Syrian Divers Union, and a generation who know this sea well enough to look after it. Certification here carries a responsibility to the reefs, the wrecks, and the water you have just learned to move through.

Opening Summer 2027

The academy opens in the summer of 2027, and registrations of interest are open now. Leave your details and we will keep you close to the water as the doors get ready to open.
